Sensational Pakistani pop singer Ali Zafar has proved himself too supportive for Pakistani film industry despite being busy in Bollywood these days.

Vote for ‘Murder 2′ posters – Mahesh Bhatt

Indian filmmakers are going online for various taks like finalising the title of a movie or arranging for finance. Producer Mahesh Bhatt is also using social networking sites to finalise the main poster for his forthcoming thriller “Murder 2″.Directed by Anurag Basu, “Murder”, starring Mallika Sherawat and Emraan Hashmi, was a big hit when released in 2004. For “Murder 2″, Mohit Suri has wielded the megaphone and Sri Lankan actress Jacqueline Fernandes has replaced Mallika in the film that hits the theatres July 8.
“We’ve five posters, but every film has one main poster besides other publicity posters. There was a disagreement between me and Mohit Suri on the main poster of the film. We thought the best way out is to show all the posters to the people of the country and let them select one,” said Bhatt.
Surfers can view the posters on www.facebook.com/m2thefilm and vote for their favourite one.
“Mohit and I’ll blindly go ahead with the people’s opinion,” said Bhatt, adding: “At the end of the day, posters are for the people, so let them tell us which the best poster of the lot is. In fact, now we are eager to know which one people will select.”
Bhatt had earlier uploaded the “Murder 2″ trailer on his Twitter page and had tweeted: “This promo has created a rift within our group. We have extreme views. Please watch this and send me your feedback.”

Imran Khan awestruck by Kareena Kapoor

Bollywood actor Imran Khan, who is currently shooting with actress Kareena Kapoor, confesses he is completely smitten by her.
“It took me time to get used to that I am working with Kareena Kapoor. I was star struck. I have grown up watching her,” Imran told IANS.
“But she is very unaffected by her stardom like she doesn’t care and because she is so chilled out about it, it becomes easy to break the mould with her,” he added.
The 28-year-old said the film being produced by Karan Johar is untitled as of now.
“The film is still untitled and it is not ‘Short Term Shaadi’, for now it’s called production number 27 because it’s the 27th production under the Dharma (Productions) banner. But we are working on the title,” he said.

Writers, directors share maximum credit for my success – Aamir Khan

n the recent past, Aamir has produced unconventional films like “Peepli Live”, “Dhobi Ghat” and recently released “Delhi Belly”. All the films set the cash registers ringing.
“I don’t have the magic touch. Yes, I have accepted those films and I have accepted the unusual films, so you can give me credit for that. I had the good sense to say yes to them, I had the good sense to work good in them and I was fortunate to have a good team in these films,” he said.
Often referred to as Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir said: “There are many reasons for which the films have been successful. Every film of mine which has become successful has first originated in the mind of a writer with whom I have no connection, neither have I given the idea to him.”
“‘Laagan’ came in Ashutosh’s mind and when he came to me, his script was totally complete and I loved it. My contribution to the script is zero. ‘Peepli Live’, ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Taare Zameen Par’ all of these films are written by different writers, some of them are writer-director together.
“Now, had not these beautiful scripts not come to me, I would have not been able to be part of these films. The other creative talents who have contributed to the success of the film also share the equal credit for it.”
The 46-year-old is grateful to have so many successful films under his belt.
“I am very grateful that I have so many films that are successful and I feel that I am very fortunate,” he said.

Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap – Review

Film: “Bbuddah…Hoga Tera Baap”
Starring: Amitabh Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Prakash Raj, Makarand Deshpande, Charmee Kaur
Directed by: Puri Jagannath
Folklore has it that wherever the Big B stands, the queue begins. It’s time to queue up for a film that reads like a running commentary on the Bachchan legend. Blessed are the generations that get to see India’s most iconic and enduring screen-hero play a variation on all his most cherished roles.
And then some more. To the angry Vijay persona that the Big B created through those brilliantly-written films of Salim-Javed in the 1970 and 80s, the actor still sprightly enough to make all the bachcha-log of Bollywood look like performing midgets, adds dollops of wry cynicism that goes well with our times.
Make no mistake Telugu cinema’s most successful director Puri Jagannath is not just a Bachchan fan. He’s also a master storyteller. To the mix ‘n’ match tale of an Angry Young Man’s journey into his advancing years of unrelenting lividness and self-mockery, Puri brings a crackling contemporary commitment to telling a story that has no room for humbug…only space for hectic hijinks.
Written with supersonic dexterity, the screenplay races through numbered days in the life of a Paris-returned gangster who is called back to Mumbai by a gangster with a serious concentration problem (Prakash Raj) to finish off a particularly troublesome cop(Sonu Sood).
It’s a skilfully written yarn that doesn’t stray into the yawn zone for even a second. Every character, even the relatively minor ones like the Bachchan’s landlady who keeps jabbering to an unseen husband in Dubai, adds a sheen of zing to the shindig. Though the narration seems to leap before it looks, the director actually manages to create a controlled atmosphere of plot development within the chaos of Mumbai’s streets clogged with scampering gangsters, cops and their minions.
Jagannath Puri displays a fabulous flair for the funny and the ferocious. The comic scenes contour the mega-star’s proclivity to laugh at himself and the self-important world around him comprising gangsters, collegians, cops and other on-the-move urbanites. Vishal-Shekhar’s austerely-used music creates evolved rhythms for the Bachchan persona. You can’t miss the insistent beat.
As for the action, the camera (Amol Rathod) moves to the rhythm of the Big B’s super-controlled body language creating for the assorted villains a kind of disembodied dynamism that we see in a far cruder avatar in the South, in the cinema of Rajnikanth.
Here, it is the Big B at work. And boy, that does mean something, doesn’t it! The iconic super-hero maneouvres through his tailormade role with a devastating dexterity, creating a celluloid combustion that leaves a trail of smoking guns, screaming tyres and satiated expectations that audiences felt and experienced in the heydays of the Bachchan Raj.
The reign never ends…thank God for small mercies! “Buddah…Hoga Tera Baap” offers a pleasurable romp into the star-power of the Big B. The rapport that his character builds up through some lovely actresses of several generations (Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Sonal Chauhan, Charmee) is so bloody robust and funny, you are left wondering how much of the sly subtle foxy flirtatiousness comes from the star and how much of it was there in the screenplay.
Undoubtedly well-written and directed with sure-handedness that cannot hide Puri Jagannath’s boundless admiration for the Bachchan phenomenon, “Bbuddah…Hoga Tera Baap” is one of those garam-masala products that’s far clever than the outward flamboyance of the main character and execution suggest.
Cut through the blizzard of bravura that the Big B projects so insouciantly and at heart this is an emotional father-son story. See how cleverly the director moves from a kind of italicized derringdo to a clamped emotional finale…. See how skilfully the other actors support the Big B’s towering presence. Prakash Raj as the arch-villain brings a sense of madness to the proceedings while Makarand Deshpande as a quiet gangster is a glorious foil to the Big B’s repartees and rejoinders. Sonu Sood as the cop who keeps running into the old-young super-hero manages to hold his own in front of the Big B. And Raveena as the Big B’s besotted bombshell beloved from the past has herself a blast.
So do we. Right to the last frenetic shootout, we are with the director laughing cheering and saluting the star-power of this super-phenomenon named Amitabh Bachchan.
And when the Big B does a medley of all his old songs it’s time to forget that the Bbuddah has just become a grand-baap all over again. Just get up and dance to the rhythm of the Big B’s star power. Don’t waste time watching the smut. “Bbuddah…Hoga Tera Baap” is the past present and future of mainstream entertainment.

The ugly face of beauty salons

JEDDAH: With the start of the summer vacation and the wedding season, business is booming in local beauty salons in Jeddah.
However, women complain they often pay high prices, while the service they get is not up to the standard. Most of the women working in these beauty salons are not trained and are unprofessional.
Female customers frequently complain that the workers are not up-to-date about fashion and beauty.
Owners of beauty shops tend to hire women workers with only basic knowledge. They take advantage of the summer rush and hire women without proper training.
After a quick basic instruction in services, such as massage, manicure and skin care that relate to health rather than beauty, these women are made to serve customers. This often leads to serious problems.
Nadia Khan, Saudi woman and former owner of a beauty salon, recounted her tough experience working in this line of business. She said it was difficult to find qualified beauticians and health experts.
After 10 years, she made the hard decision of closing down her business. “Although I was after profit, I was looking to provide the best of services that would reflect a good image of my business,” said Khan.
However, she discovered that in most cases professionals were not easily available. This forced her to depend on trainees who were not committed to work. Even if a worker was trained to become a professional, she would leave one day to work elsewhere for a higher salary.
Khan observed that people should be more aware of the quality of service provided and be vigilant about "the many tricks owners and so-called beauty experts use.”
According to Fatima Yahya, owner of a beauty salon in Jeddah, there were two types of customers: those who are aware of the service they are getting and those who are not.
The first group is usually picky and complains most of the time. The other type usually comes from cities outside Jeddah.
“In summer, most of our customers are visitors from outside Jeddah attending happy occasions here. Oddly enough, they do not ask about credentials or care about the services we provide. In fact, they are happy with what we do, even if it was not up to the standard because of their ignorance about beauty center services,” Yahya explained.
Other beauty center owners stress that basic safety procedures are important, especially where liquid products like creams and oils are applied.
Amal Younes is the owner of a well-known beauty center in Jeddah. She told Arab News that professionals in this field were only working in hotels, spas and well-known beauty centers like hers.
“Beauty professionals who wish to work at my salon are required to produce a certificate showing that they have completed proper training course at an authorized training center,” she said.
Younes said, “When the H1N1 virus was spreading around the world, including the Middle East, we noticed a growing level of awareness among most of our customers. They insisted on receiving perfect service and on high hygiene standard. However, they stopped asking about details when there were no viruses or fears anymore.”
Many public and private sector organizations have launched training programs for women working in this field emphasizing the importance of providing a perfect service to customers at acceptable prices.
“We are launching several training courses under the supervision of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation to make sure that all workers in beauty centers are qualified,” said Nora Siddique, owner of Al-Anamel Al-Thahabiya training center in Jeddah.
“After completion of the training, trainees are sent to the municipality to obtain permits to work in these centers,” she noted.
The municipality has also advised all beauty centers to openly display their certification in the centers, so that customers know that they are in a rule-abiding establishment.
Siddique pointed out that during high seasons, most beauty centers hire part-time workers who are almost always employed without any health checks, certification or training.
“Therefore, the municipality has increased the frequency of surprise checks on beauty centers,” she explained.

Highs & lows Of the Royal wedding

Finally the big day came on Friday April 29th 2011, the most awaited royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton took place where all were set to compete each other in the race of fashion. The exclusive apparel of the British Royal family was classy and beautiful as ever. The bride, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge looked gorgeous and stunning.
Fashion designers from all over the world were anxious to know who would be assigned to design the outfit most talked about. The day had come and all eyes were at the princess, Kate Middleton, What would she wear? Who would be the lucky designer?
Kate Middleton wore an eye-catching but austere ivory gown, designed by Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton. To enhance the beauty of the bride, she topped her gown with the crown of the Royal family which she took from her grand mother-in-law Queen Elizabeth. The gown included a lace appliqué over an ivory bodice and skirt. The bodice and skirt was made of silk and satin. The jewelry included diamond earrings and a necklace.
“The dress is absolutely magical-it looks like it’s been put together by bluebirds”, said Angela Buttolph, editor of fashion magazine.
As a result, the bride was among the high sides of the Royal wedding. Now let’s take a look at the other royal guests and celebrities who made right or wrong fashion choices on the wedding. Most of the guests were looking stunning and gorgeous according to the occasion.
Top of the list were The Beck hams. Both David and Victoria Beckham were among the highs of the occasion. David wore a black suit by Ralph Lauren and Victoria wore a dark blue dress that fitted her perfectly. The couple together looked most sophisticated and elegant.
Another look at the Prime minister’s wife Samantha Cameron was she wore a blue dress along with an orange shawl and a necklace that gave a complete look to her outfit.
There were many other guests and senior officials at the Royal wedding who mostly chose to wear Spanish designer collection which made the event classy and memorable.
Now let’s move on to some of those who really look awkward in the occasion. Chelsy Davy was one of those odd ones who wore aqua marine bias cut silk blouse and skirt that was misfit for the occasion. Her nude-colored pumps and clutch did not enhance her over-all look.
Another awful dressed guest was the British socialite and TV presenter, Tara Palmer-Tomikson, who wore cobalt blue color that was not the cause of disaster instead it was energetic shape of her Deborah Milner dress .Although Tara tried hard to become one of the fashionable guests but was unfortunate.
Finally, it does not matter if the guests made a good or bad choice, there were highs or lows, do or don’t s in the occasion it just that they definitely enjoyed the most awaited wedding of the century.

Update yourself with these Movies Reviews

Who doesn't love watching good movies? There's nothing like going to the cinema and munching through an entire box of popcorn while watching the drama unfold on the big screen. So here, we 've shortlisted some of the latest movie releases and a summary of the latest dvd movie releases as well as giving you the lowdown on some forthcoming movies for next month.

Movie Reviews: ALICE IN WONDERLAND

We begin our movie reviews with one of the latest movie releases to hit the big screen which is a Tim Burton directed remake of an old classic Lewis Carroll tale. In this movie, Nineteen-year-old Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is attending a party at a lavish country estate when she sees a white rabbit with a pocket watch dart into the bushes. Curious, she follows the rabbit to an enormous tree, and tumbles down a hole that takes her to Underland (Wonderland). In this movie, Wonderland is a colorful, eye-catching universe where every part of the screen is bursting with an array of computer-generated distractions. Sometimes, in movies when you put visuals before the story, you end up losing the story and perhaps that was the case in this movie. A typical tale of good versus evil but this movie could have been darker and more plot twists, with less focus on graphics could have saved the story from being the run of the mill, moral-filled tale.

Movie Review: HOT TUB MACHINE

One of the latest movie releases is 'Hot Tub Time Machine' which follows a group of best friends who've become bored with their adult lives: John Cusack, Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson star as estranged best buddies who go on a ski trip and become part of the time-space continuum! Confused? Don 't be.. In the movie, they have a crazy night of drunkardness only to wake up with their heads pounding, in the year 1986! This latest movie release, ironically enough, is a mixture of Old School, Back to the Future and The Hangover ! This movie obviously falls into the bracket of comedy movies and it's precisely the kind of crazy, commercial cinematic movie that evokes that laugh out loud laughter. Movie reviews and news peg the actors as having congenial chemistry.

If you missed the cinema release of these movies or simply want to buy it for your own collection, then these are the latest dvd movie releases to hit the stores:
- Sherlock Holmes
- An Education
- The Yes Men fix the World

Lastly, in movie news, the following movies are coming to a cinema near you soon, very soon so your keep your eyes peeled for their release.
